Terms and Conditions
Acceptance of Services
By approving an estimate, scheduling service, signing a work order, or accepting services provided by Portage Plumbing Services ("Contractor"), the customer ("Client") agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
Estimates and Pricing
Estimates are based on information available at the time of inspection.
Additional work, unforeseen conditions, code requirements, concealed defects, or customer-requested changes may result in additional charges.
Any changes to the scope of work will be communicated to the Client before additional work is performed whenever reasonably possible.
Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Commercial accounts with approved credit terms must pay according to the agreed payment schedule.
Past-due balances may accrue interest at 2.5% per month (30% annually).
The Client is responsible for reasonable collection costs, attorney fees, and court costs incurred in collecting unpaid balances.
Access and Property Conditions
Plumbing, drain, sewer, gas, and water line work may require access to concealed piping, wiring, or utilities.
The Client grants Portage Plumbing permission to access areas reasonably necessary to complete the work.
Existing conditions may require opening walls, ceilings, floors, cabinets, landscaping, concrete, or other building components.
Portage Plumbing is not responsible for repairing, replacing, or matching finishes, paint, tile, flooring, drywall, landscaping, or other materials disturbed while performing necessary work.
Customer Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for protecting and removing personal property from work areas.
Portage Plumbing is not responsible for damage to items left in or near the work area.
The Client is responsible for identifying known underground utilities, private lines, irrigation systems, septic components, and other concealed structures not marked through public utility locating services.
Warranty
Labor Warranty
Portage Plumbing warrants its workmanship for ninety (90) days from the date of service unless otherwise stated in writing.
Manufacturer Warranties
Products, fixtures, equipment, and materials supplied by Portage Plumbing are covered solely by the manufacturer's warranty where applicable.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear.
Freezing, abuse, neglect, misuse, or lack of maintenance.
Damage caused by third parties.
Existing plumbing system defects unrelated to the work performed.
Customer modifications or repairs performed after completion.
Acts of nature, flooding, power surges, or other events beyond our control.
Limitation of Liability
Portage Plumbing's liability for any claim arising from services provided shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Portage Plumbing shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, business interruption, water damage, or loss of use.
Portage Plumbing is not responsible for pre-existing defects, hidden conditions, deterioration of existing systems, or damage resulting from the failure of existing plumbing components.
Delays and Unforeseen Conditions
Portage Plumbing shall not be liable for delays caused by weather, material shortages, utility interruptions, permit delays, labor shortages, acts of government, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Returned Checks and Chargebacks
Returned checks, disputed credit card charges, and chargebacks may be subject to additional administrative and collection costs.
